My love for riding horses started at an early age. My first show experience was at the age of three in a lead line class at a AQHA regional show where I was immediately hooked as I waved to the crowd for their applause. I started taking general riding lessons shortly after and continue my love for horses and showing to this day. Little did my parents know that my passion for horses and competing would evolve this far. Having ridden/shown numerous different horses over the last 10+ years has taught me more than I can imagine.
I have ridden under the guidance of multiple trainers. From working with Kole Price (NRHA $1M+ Rider/ trainer), to Kim Diercks (2015 NRHA Horsewoman of the year) to Amy Strachan Marx (a local AQHA trainer) I have learned something from everyone. My focus is reining, and I travel 2+ hours at least 2-3 times a week to ride with my current trainer Kim Diercks. I have a horse at home that I ride daily as well. I workout in the gym and with a strength and conditioning coach to ensure I stay strong and in shape. I play soccer both for a club team and my high school. I am also Captain of our High School Equestrian team which we were State Champions last year.
I am currently a Junior at the High School of Health Sciences in Wales, WI. This is a charter school of the Kettle Moraine School District. It is an extremely competitive academic school. As I started looking at colleges and what I wanted to do one thing became front and center and that was finding the right team that I can be part of to continue my Equestrian career. Education is of the utmost importance to me however I also want to be part of team and in particular a NCAA Division 1 Equestrian team. Both my parents were Division 1 athletes, and they know firsthand what it is like to be part of a team that requires that much commitment and discipline. Through my equestrian career I have learned so much and I want to find the right team to commit myself and my future to. I know that I will be an asset for any team, and I will always strive to continue to improve in the show pen and excel academically. I look forward to finding the team that I can excel with and help achieve their goals as well.
